Rendered entirely from imagination, Swan Nocturne depicts a self-contained ecosystem. Two illuminated swans float above koi fish beneath lily pads, while a dragonfly and a small insect hover nearby. The work explores beauty through the act of world-building, by imagining complex, interconnected environments, and through the quiet balance that sustains the natural world.  This piece also asks whether something entirely imagined can hold more aesthetic value than the observable world, and whether ecosystems are beautiful despite containing predators. Can the presence of unsettling forces ultimately create beauty through balance?
